About Avan
Drawing from her past experience, Avan has infused methods used in textile design into her work. She was introduced to batik as a young girl and has always been fascinated by the technique. She now uses hot wax and other resists on watercolor paper to create multi-layered images in vibrant colors with dyes, watercolors and gouaches. She lets the colors flow naturally and perform their magic, exercising just the right amount of control over the media. For her, every painting is treated like a masterpiece!
